Andalusian studies declare a “housing emergency” to combat the housing problem

The Andalusian Government plans to declare the “housing emergency” in the community. This was declared by the Minister of Development, Territorial Articulation and Housing, following a request from the Andalusian Federation of Real Estate Developers (Fadeco Promotores).

In the event of a state of emergency, the community would reduce housing construction times and procedures. Already the largest stock of houses available, lower price, explains the Andalusian government.

The Council is therefore proposing a new way to fight against rising housing prices in the community. Added to this are the measures already announced by the Andalusian government which concern the reduction of regional taxes on purchases and rentals for certain groups.

The Minister of the Economy, Finance and European Funds, Caroline Spainexplained in an interview with Canal Sur that the community government is considering this scenario as a way to solve the housing problem.

“We must take the bull by the horns and put all administrations to work urgently, because there is an emergency situation in terms of housing,” asked the head of the Economy, who requested a “national pact” on the housing problem.

“Housing is a fundamental right and it is true that today it is difficult for young people to emancipate themselves and be able to acquire and buy your own house“Spain has admitted it.

The advisor stressed that the future Andalusian housing law “will see the light of day in the first half of 2024 and will significantly speed up urban planning procedures so that there is land available to developers, one of the main problems” because now it can “take ten years and it’s scandalous.

At the same time, the Minister of the Treasury highlighted other initiatives such as deductions for the purchase of the first home or the mortgage guarantee for young people who are will be extended from 35 to 40 years with an allocation of 25 million euros in 2025 because “we see how emancipation and the purchase of the first home are happening later and later”.

After emphasizing that during the last five years of Juanma Moreno’s government, “the number of OPV has been multiplied by three” in AndalusiaSpain insisted on the need to “take the bull by the horns and put all administrations to work urgently”.
