The far right takes advantage of the assassination of a taxi driver in Alcalá de Henares to lie about the nationality of the criminal

The media, social networks and far-right politicians rushed once again this Wednesday to link the assassination of a taxi driver last Tuesday in the Madrid town of Alcalá de Henares to a person of Moroccan nationality, although the perpetrator, a minor under 16 years old and born in Miranda de Ebro, has Spanish nationality.

The events occurred in the afternoon of Tuesday, October 16, in the town of Complutense, when the minor took a taxi on the central avenue of los Reyes Católicos and, after more than an hour and a half of travel across the city, the taxi driver went to the Alcalá hospital where he stabbed him up to five times. The man died from his injuries early Wednesday.

The victim, a 62-year-old taxi driver named Isidro, had recording equipment inside his vehicle, causing images of the perpetrator to begin being made public on Tuesday evening. These images were first broadcast by the companions of the stabbed man and even by television programs like La afternoon AR, despite the fact that he was a minor.

Once the images began to be broadcast, publications identifying the alleged murderer as “Moro”, “Mena” or “Jovenlandés” began to appear on various social networks, notably on x (formerly Twitter). The National Police confirmed to various media, including Europa Press, that the person arrested this Wednesday October 17 is indeed a minor (he is 16 years old) and of Spanish nationality.

Despite this, political representatives like the former vice-president of the Junta de Castilla y León, the leader of Vox Juan García-Gallardo Frings, did not hesitate to affirm that Isidro had been assassinated “by another Moor” .

Some of them, like the pseudo-media Herqles, have already started to eliminate their publications due to information that contradicts the discourse accusing Moroccan immigration of any crime committed in Spain even before knowing the details in depth. , as has already happened with the Mocejón. crime in which an 11-year-old boy died.
