Tickets for the upcoming 2025 summer tour of British rock band Oasis, which broke up almost 15 years ago, sold out in a matter of hours. The band wrote about this on their social media account. However, many fans criticized the ticket sales process, denouncing the need to queue even online, scalpers and dynamic pricing.

The band have announced 17 shows across Britain and Ireland in July-August next year as part of The Oasis comeback tour.

Within minutes of the main stage sales going on sale on the morning of Saturday 31 August, some people looking for tickets for concerts at Wembley Stadium in London discovered that more than 1 million people were queuing in front of them, the BBC reports.

Some fans complained that ticketing sites rejected their purchases, calling them bots. However, many of them were queued online for several hours.

Others were not happy with the way the sites handled the incredible demand. Tickets sold during a three-hour preliminary sales phase on Friday 30 August were already appearing on resellers’ websites at 40 times the face value of a standing seat in the dance hall. The price soared from £135 to £6,000.

At the same time, dynamic pricing suddenly appeared on official online sales platforms and tickets began selling for £355.

Oasis promised that all tickets sold at exorbitant prices would be cancelled. At the same time, resale sites claim that buying on the official website and then selling at a higher price is legal.

Oasis was founded in 1991 by brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher. Considered one of the most influential and commercially successful rock bands of the 1990s, Oasis is one of the so-called “Big Four” of Britpop along with Blur, Suede and Pulp. Over the 18 years of its existence, the band has released seven studio albums, each of which topped the UK charts and received multi-platinum status.

In August 2009, Noel left the band, stating that he could not stand being on the same stage as Liam. In October of the same year, the team announced their disbandment. According to unofficial information, this happened after a scandal with a fight between the brothers before a concert in Paris.

Last week, on August 27, the group announced that they would be reuniting.
