IDF attacked IRGC weapons depots in Syria: media

The first reports have emerged that the IDF carried out an airstrike against a weapons depot belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the Latakia region of Syria.

This was reported by the Alexey Zheleznov Telegram channel.

According to local sources, the attack occurred around 03:00, when the Syrian air defense systems were activated to repel the attack. The target of the attack was a weapons depot located near Tishrin University.

Eyewitnesses reported that after the impact secondary explosions were heard in the area that lasted for some time. Syrian authorities said two people were injured at the scene, but there is still no exact data on the extent of the destruction.

Cursor previously reported that the United States launched attacks on Houthi weapons depots in Yemen.

The United States launched a series of targeted strikes against underground weapons storage facilities in Yemen, which are under Houthi control.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin confirmed that the attacks targeted five sites storing weapons used by the Houthis to attack ships in the region. As a result of the operation, which involved American B-2 bombers, weapons depots were destroyed.

According to Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV, the attacks were carried out not only by American but also British forces. The attacks hit Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, and the city of Saada.

As ABC News reports, citing US officials, the strikes were part of a large-scale US Central Command operation aimed at undermining the capabilities of the Houthis, who receive support from Iran.
