everything changes from this date

From this date everything will change, if you are unemployedyou better prepare yourself for some tough news from the Treasury. The most vulnerable are those who cannot or do not work, because they depend solely and exclusively on what they get from this detail, which can be fundamental. Unemployment benefit was until now excluded from certain accounts, but today it will very soon be present for the Treasury.

In other words, we will continue to have to carry out certain procedures that we have not needed until now. The new rules are set by a Treasury who is getting serious and telling us that we need to start preparing to take the next step. Perhaps by researching certain concepts that have remained outside of certain challenges, the time will come to make certain gestures a reality that we may not have even considered until now. We need to be aware of new developments that are happening to be able to put into practice certain elements that we perhaps did not have in mind until now. Everything will change from this date, a radical change which could end up being decisive.

Everything will change on this date

First of all, You need to know what Social Security includes for the unemployed: “Protects the eventuality of unemployment in which those who are able and willing to work, lose their job temporarily or permanently, or have their working hours reduced by at least one third, with the loss or reduction of corresponding salary for one of the causes established as legal situations of unemployment The protection of this situation at the contributory level is called unemployment benefit. Included in the protection against unemployment are salaried workers included in the General Social Security Scheme, as well. that the personnel hired under the administrative law regime and the employment agents in the service of Public Administrations who plan to contribute to this eventuality. Likewise, are included, with certain particularities, the salaried workers included in the special security regimes. which protect this eventuality (coal mine workers, permanent salaried workers under the special agrarian regime, sea workers, including paid workers who provide services on fishing vessels of less than 10 gross registered tons).

Hard blow to the Treasury for the unemployed

Bad news arrives from the Treasury regarding the unemployed. Unemployed people receiving unemployment benefits will have to file their tax return from next year, whether or not they reach the minimum amount to do so, as was the case until now. This is stated in the Royal Decree-Law of May 21 of this year, by which urgent measures were adopted to simplify and improve the level of assistance in matters of protection against unemployment, consulted by Europa Press and advanced by ‘Expansión’.

So, whether or not they reach the minimum amount, each of them must file the tax return, which had not yet happened and which is the result of an agreement already concluded. The workers’ unions themselves already knew that this measure would eventually come.

The main measure of the decree, agreed with CCOO and UGT and not signed by CEOE and Cepyme, envisages an increase in installments of the amount of unemployment benefit, currently 480 euros per month (80% of Iprem); It broadens the group of beneficiaries and will, among other measures, make both the allowance and the contributory unemployment benefit compatible with a salary.

But what this decree also implies is that as of November 1, the date on which it will come into force. All unemployed people who benefit from this benefit will have to file accounts with the Treasury in the 2025 tax return. Regardless of the amount they benefit from, they will have to account for these taxes.

In this way, the The Ministry of Finance now requires beneficiaries unemployment benefits to submit the tax return, which is in addition to self-employed workers, a group who, since this year, are also obliged to submit the tax return regardless of their income.

Both sectors are among the most vulnerable, on the one hand self-employed workers without significant income. A group which, in addition, has seen its quota increase, but also the unemployed who also do not reach the minimum required to file the income tax return.

Taxes are everyone’s business, so this procedure must be followed. So that no one is spared from this process which can truly affect us all in one way or another.
