What you need to know about objections for doctors in Prison Establishments: conditions, dates and examinations

He Official State Gazette published the call for oppositions, in free rotation, from the Ministry of the Interior to try to fill 89 positions of doctors of different specialties.

What conditions must I meet to be a doctor in prison establishments?

Candidates who wish to participate in this call must have Spanish nationality or that of a Member State of the European Union; have reached the age of majority; possess the functional abilities to perform the tasks assigned to the position and not having been convicted for intentional offence, to custodial sentences of more than three years.

Regarding qualification, it will be mandatory to be in possession of the title of Graduate or Bachelor of Medicine; Medicine and Surgery; specialist in family and community or internal medicine.

When can I apply? How can I do it?

The registration period begins on October 18 and ends November 15, 2024.

Applications must be submitted via the Web page of the State Administration, where the appropriate forms must be completed and the required documents must be attached.

What will doctor’s exams look like in prisons?

The selection process will be governed by opposition and training period.

Opposition

The opposition will include two exercises. In the first of these, candidates must answer a 100 question exam which will cover the entire agenda. Questions answered correctly will receive a positive score; Those who remain empty will not be penalized and those who are negative will subtract a third from the affirmative ones. This first exercise will be graded with a maximum of 10 points, five being necessary to pass.

The second test will be practical in nature and will consist of preparation of a report, in accordance with the powers assigned to those responsible for the Optional Prison Health Corps. The maximum score that can be obtained will be 10 points, with five needed to pass.

Internship period

People who have successfully completed the opposition phase will access the training period, which will be divided into two phases.

The first of them will be training phasewhich will consist of the provision of a training course on the subjects of the Corps of Prison Health Practitioners. The course can be delivered at different locations and can be taken in person and online. It will be graded as pass or fail, and to receive approval it will be necessary to have attended at least 80% of the classes.

In the second phase, they will take the practices in penitentiary centers and you will have to attend 80% of school days to pass. The scoring model will be the same.
