One of the leaders of Hamas, Khaled Meshal, acts as leader of the movement after the liquidation of Yahya Sinwar, reports the Lebanese television channel LBCI citing sources. Meshaal led the movement out of Palestine.
“Mashal has taken on the role of acting head of the movement and is now responsible for all communications with key parties involved in negotiations and resolving issues with prisoners.” – reports the television channel.
Sources confirmed to LBCI that Hamas leaders informed Turkish, Qatari and Egyptian officials about Sinwar’s death.
On Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) officially announced that Sinwar, considered the main mastermind and organizer of the unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, was killed in the Gaza Strip by the Israeli army.
