Glovo owner accused of crime against workers’ rights

The judge responsible for investigation into Glovo founder and CEOOscar Pierre, decided accuse him of a crime against workers’ rights. As ‘eldiario.es’ announced, Pierre will have to testify on December 3.

Before the 31st Court of Instruction of Barcelona, ​​several workers have already testified as witnesses, corroborating the prosecutor’s version. The public prosecutor accuses him of keep Glovo workers as fake self-employed despite the Supreme Court ruling banning it.

This investigation is already being carried out in a criminal context after the company has already had various administrative sanctions for the same reason, keeping its workers as false self-employed.

According to the prosecution, Pierre’s company “infringes and suppresses the rights of salaried workers”violating many different areas such as salary, working hours or social protection, with the aim of “reducing business costs” for Glovo.

By continuing his abusive practices despite multiple sanctions, Pierre now risks a prison sentence of between six months and six years.
