Elon Musk jumped on Trump’s back a few days ago at a rally in Pennsylvania. He looked crazy. The worst thing about a change of times like the one we are experiencing is not that the visionaries are confused with the morons, but that we find ourselves without knowing who belongs to which category: only our grandchildren will know.
I noticed the slogan Musk wore on his t-shirt: “Occupy Mars.” Populating the red planet is one of his dearest obsessions. He has been proclaiming for more than a decade that he will succeed. According to his calculations, in two years he will command, probably with his company SpaceX, an unmanned mission to Mars. And he claims that in 2050, after sending a million human colonists, the Red Planet will become a self-sustaining city.
