A man was sentenced to 16 years for preparing sabotage on a railway in the Belgorod region

A Russian who was preparing to blow up a railway infrastructure facility in the Belgorod region was sentenced to 16 years in prison and a maximum security colony. This was reported today, October 18, by the press service of the FSB Regional Directorate.

According to the department, the man was caught red-handed while preparing to commit sabotage. He seized an explosive device from his hiding place and planned to blow up a railway infrastructure facility in the region. The Russian was found guilty under art. 275, part 2 art. 205.5, part 3 art. 30, paragraph “a”, part 2, art. 281, paragraph “a”, “c”, part 3 of art. 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

“According to the verdict of the Second Western District Military Court, he was found guilty of committing these crimes. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison, three years in prison and the rest to a maximum security correctional colony, with a restriction of freedom of one year and a fine of 400 thousand rubles. — informs the press service in a statement.
