The socialist government of Coslada approved this Friday during the municipal plenary session the format of the new garbage tariff that residents must pay. This will mean for your pockets, on average, a few 12.75 euros per month, or around 150 euros per year, be able to reach the 600 euros in certain casesaccording to the opposition.
This trash rate will be applied taking into account three criteria: the number of people registered at home, which will represent more than half of the bill, while the other two parts will be distributed according to the square meters housing and cadastral value of the property. In other words, the more people who live in the property and depending on its cadastral value and its square meters, the bill could skyrocket.
Given the mandatory application of Sánchez’s “garbage” to cover the total amount of waste processed, the Socialist City Council of Coslada will reduce the IBI tax rate, as it also approved this Friday. SO, will increase from 0.44 currently to 0.40 in 2025which will imply an average reduction in the bill of around 40 euros per accommodation.
Additionally, there will be bonuses on other fees and taxes. For example, a 35% bonus for using the Clean point (fixed and mobile), 40% additional for large families and another 100% for families in situations of risk of social exclusion.
“It’s a cacicada”
The spokesperson for the Popular Party of Coslada, Paco Becerradenounced that the socialist mayor, Angel Viverosrecovered the garbage rate through the imposition of Pedro Sanchez with which some neighbors will pay up to 600 euros added to taxes.
The Municipal Council, thanks to this measure, will have 4 million euros more in municipal coffers. A figure which, from the Popular Party, it is estimated that the left will not take advantage of to undertake major reforms in Coslada. “Wages will continue to be increased or guaranteed pay “that they love so much,” the spokesperson said.
Becerra also wanted to take the opportunity to deny all those who accuse Europe when the reality is different. “This is so because the European directive establishes various incentives for its application and it was Pedro Sánchez himself who, in the exercise of his powers, chose the most expensive system for citizens, forcing town halls to apply the cost to individuals.
“The Crèches Government took into account, among the data on the impact of the tariff on households, the number of square meters of housing. This seems completely irresponsible to us, because it has nothing to do with it. It is a question of setting up a system of payment per generation, and not of taxing potential wealthwhich is already done through other taxes such as the IBI or the personal income tax”, denounced the popular spokesperson.
In short, Becerra regretted that the Viveros government rejected the PP proposal and moved forward with it “cacique» this only harms the neighbors. “Once again they are putting ideological issues above citizens,” he said. The most popular ones featured a modification of the whole and proposed that these powers regarding waste collection be returned to the regional councilor.
