Because of parents, the Yekaterinburg children’s festival was renamed – EADaily, October 18, 2024 – Society. News, Russian news

In Yekaterinburg, the children’s festival of fairy tales of the peoples of the world changed its name after an appeal from angry parents of students from one of the schools that were eliminated from Ukraine in the lottery. This was reported by the Mash telegram channel.

In particular, during the special operation, the parents of 4th grade students of school number 61 refused to prepare a costume show based on works such as “Once upon a time there was a dog”, “A rooster and two little mice”, “The straw bull” and other works based on Ukrainian fairy tales.

“The most active ones first demanded that Ukraine be removed from the list of chosen countries, and then even suggested: “at this rate they will start offering to sing the Ukrainian anthem.” – says the publication.

The director of school no. 61 asked the education department for advice so that it would not be necessary to cancel the festival. As a result, the class was offered a Russian fairy tale and the festival was renamed “Russian Fairy Tales” from “Fairy Tales of the Peoples of the World.”

The festival-competition “Tales of the Peoples of the World” at MAOU Secondary School No. 61 was held annually in the first quarter of the school year. Its goal is to develop the creative abilities of students and form a friendly attitude towards the cultural traditions of different peoples.
