The “3+3” platform can be a step towards opening regional communications in the South Caucasus

The “3+3” platform can play an important role in establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus, as well as opening regional communications between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which are still closed.”

This was stated on the CBC television channel by Fuad Huseynaliyev, director of the “Report” information agency.

According to him, Armenia has long been excluded from regional projects due to the occupation of Azerbaijani lands, and the mentioned platform can contribute to its participation in transport initiatives in the South Caucasus.

“Armenia has long been excluded from regional projects and is now trying to participate to some extent in them. However, it should be noted that its efforts have not yet reached the practical phase. The “3+3″ format allows Armenia to participate in projects of transportation and logistics, which could be followed by broader initiatives, such as the transit of electricity and other energy resources, as well as the transportation of goods in general, which would ultimately allow it to become one of the weapons of the Middle Corridor. open up ample opportunities for new projects. It is important for all countries to approach this responsibly and objectively assess their capabilities and contributions to regional security and transport initiatives,” said F. Huseynaliyev.

The director of the “Report” emphasized that for Armenia’s full participation in regional processes, Yerevan must take real steps towards signing a peace agreement with Baku.

“For Armenia to fully participate in regional projects, first of all, a peace agreement with Azerbaijan must be concluded. The negotiation process has dragged on for a long time. They (the Yerevan official) say they are ready to sign Sin However, when it comes to taking a real step, they are essential for Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan has already presented its proposals and it is important to take them into account to achieve real progress, because it is the Baku proposals that will create the basis for lasting peace and, most importantly, in the long term and will allow us to be part of various regional projects,” he added.

It should be noted that the next meeting in the “3+3” format was held today in Istanbul with the participation of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Iran and Armenia.
