Carlos Sainz’s new proposal to F1 after eliminating the point for a fast lap

This is one of the big news in Formula 1 for next season: the extra point for the fastest lap is over. The winner will get a maximum of 25 points in the race and will not be able to benefit from this extra that many drivers try in the last lap when they have a significant advantage behind.

Carlos Sainz agrees with this measure. He believes his withdrawal was necessary. This was said during the official press conference of the United States Grand Prix.

“I was always of the opinion that it was a pointless point in F1, because of the way it was done.since it is done by whoever has a free stop with one lap remaining, it therefore doesn’t really show who is fastest. It’s by chance or luck at some point and it happens a lot,” explains the Spanish Ferrari driver.

And he launched a new proposal to F1. Let this additional point continue…but is awarded to the driver who obtains pole SATURDAY.

“I agree that pole is something that has a lot more value in the media and for the drivers, because you did the fastest lap and scoring a point on a tight grid would be nice, but not so much for a very dominant car But yes, I would give a point to the driver who takes risks and aims for pole”, declares the future driver. Williams.

The most brilliant driver of the day on Saturday would thus be rewarded. A proposal that pleases his colleagues in the paddock and that the competition organizers will surely have heard.
