Two jihadists arrested in Gipuzkoa and Avilés for spreading Daesh messages on social networks

The national police arrested Guipuzcoa and Avilés to two people for spreading Daesh messages on social networks. One of them was in contact with terrorists and had expressed his desire to become a martyr, while the other was immersed in a process of radicalization and called for a Muslim uprising. Both went to prison.

The investigation into one of these cases began earlier this year when specialist counter-terrorism officers detected an individual in the Basque town of Itsasondo which produced and disseminated radical material and violent of a jihadist nature. In the case of Avilés, the police identified a radicalized individual who was issuing proclamations in favor of jihadism on social networks, where he had many followers to whom he sent this type of content. The inmate He openly expressed his hatred of everything Western and their way of life and directly incited the realization of jihad, while calling for the uprising of Muslims in Melilla and being favorable to the Palestinian cause.

Officers searched two homes and seized various computer equipment which continues to be analyzed. In his case, he is accused of crimes of self-indoctrination, self-education and glorification of terrorism. As in the previous case, he also adopted security measures to avoid detection by the police.
