The Angel Ximenez of Genil Bridge scored a valuable point on Catalan soil against Fraikin Granollers, one of the best teams in the Asobal League in a match marked by the high number of goals and where the Pontanenses offered a great image to take a more than deserved point. A goal from Ponta’s young winger Antonio Cabello put the final tie at 32.
The first half was marked by a tie on the scoreboard with both teams very successful in their offensive shots. The dominance against defenses was palpable almost from the start, with a 3-3 start. The outside throw was noticed by those of Pontan, in particular by Janosi. Electronic alternatives were constant. The Argentinian Simonet would be responsible for breaking the losing streak by equalizing at 29, a result with which Paco Bustos stopped the match. There were seven minutes left and anything could happen. After a superb goal from Dani Serrano, the Catalan team would score two goals to reverse the situation, the second from Freitas on the verge of a liability (31-30). Then after two failures in attack on both sides, Bernabéu would get a tie at 31 with two minutes remaining.
In the next action, things couldn’t have gotten worse for Bustos. 7 meters that Deumal scored in a game where Sousa saw the exclusion. There was just over a minute left to at least get a tie. In the following action, local exclusion and goal from Ponta winger Antonio Cabello to equalize at 32. Granollers had one possession left with 20 seconds. After Rama’s timeout, the Pontans would defend very well. Antonio García was awarded a direct free kick with the clock at zero but the ball did not result in a goal.
Nice point made by the team Paco Bustos who manages to make up for the defeat suffered seven days earlier at home against Guadalajara.
