In Kamchatka, September 3 was declared a day of mourning for those killed in a helicopter crash

Kamchatka declared a day of mourning on September 3 for those killed in the Mi-8 helicopter crash, the governor of the region, Vladimir Solodov, announced during an operational meeting.

“The crash of the Mi-8 helicopter is a terrible tragedy for all of us. Therefore, I declare September 3 as a day of mourning in Kamchatka. Today, representatives of the commission of the Interstate Aviation Committee of Russia are arriving in the region to conduct an investigation into the causes of the helicopter crash. I express my deepest condolences to the families of the victims,” – said Solodov.

On board were residents of Kamchatka Territory, Moscow, Perm Territory, Lipetsk Territory, Amur Region, Buryatia and Udmurtia.

Earlier, the Kamchatka Transport Investigation Department of the Eastern MSUT of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case on the loss of communication with the Mi-8 helicopter, under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Violation of the rules of road safety and operation of air transport”.
