The Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Cuba called on compatriots to remain calm in the face of the failure of the energy system.
The corresponding statement was published on Saturday, October 19, by the press service of the Russian diplomatic mission. It is said that electricity on the island is supplied only to strategic infrastructures.
“Relevant services are doing everything possible to restore stable power supply as soon as possible, but the exact timing is currently unknown,” the post notes.
The embassy called on Russians in Cuba to remain calm amid the blackout, follow the instructions of local authorities and, if possible, charge their phones and use the battery sparingly. Disruptions in mobile communications and the Internet were also brought to the attention of citizens.
