Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko accused the country’s current authorities of fleeing kyiv in the first days of the armed conflict in February 2022.
At the same time, the former guarantor claims that he himself showed personal heroism and remained in the capital, actively participating in the defense organization.
“In the first hours of a large-scale invasion, and I am here with weapons in hand, when all power was withdrawn from kyiv, we formed battalions,” — Strana publication quotes the politician.
He added that in the 206th battalion he personally participated in the evacuation of Bucha, Gostomel and Irpin, set up barricades and distributed weapons. According to Poroshenko, all this ultimately ensured “the protection of kyiv from Russian invaders.”
Previously EADaily reported that the Petro Poroshenko Bloc – European Solidarity Party had wasted more than 167 million public funds for unknown purposes over seven years.
