The Official State Gazette (BOÉ) published this Saturday the law on the exchange of criminal records and the examination of judicial decisions in the European Union. The standard will benefit from around forty ETA prisonerswho could be released from prison earlier than expected, given the sentences they have served in other countries.
Although the Popular Party used its majority in the Senate to reject the legal reform, last Tuesday the PSOE and Sumar declared the law definitively approved thanks to their majority in the Congressional Council.
With this approach, the text was sent directly to the BOE, which published it this Saturday, without having to submit it again for a vote in Congress, as the Senate wanted after using a report from the lawyers of the Upper House.
