Sculptors, florists, goldsmiths…, the trades of Holy Week and its economic impact are on display in Cordoba

Around fifty exhibitors gathered in the same place to give an overview of the economic sector which nourishes Holy Week in Cordoba and the province.

From early morning, the public began to approach the exhibition center, Cordoba Fairs and Congresses (CEFC) to immerse yourself in the world of businesses linked to this celebration: from candle merchants, banks, insurance companies and incense stores to sculptors, restorers, florists and goldsmiths.

All are gathered on this same surface in two common initiatives of the Group of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of Cordoba: the second Business Meeting, which finances the Municipal Institute of Economic Development, and the first Entrepreneurship Room of the Brotherhood, promoted by the Provincial Deputation.

Orchestral music and chapel music are also represented in this event, which began in the morning with the Caeli trio and continues in the afternoon with the musical group Cristo de Gracia and the Salud band, both from Córdoba .

The origin of these entrepreneurs This is mainly about Córdoba, but also other regions of Andalusia and Spain, given that the projection into the future is to give it an international character, as Manuel Murillo pointed out.

The president of the Provincial Council, Salvador Fuentesstressed that this appointment before Lent and Holy Week in the economy and employment was linked to popular piety. This is an opportunity for these entrepreneurs to make their work known and create new opportunities.

This year, a giant screen presents Holy Week in the province and the work of all these artisans. One of them, Manuel Cubero, from the workshop Cubero Rivera Brothersis an artist from Priego de Córdoba who comes, on behalf of his municipality, to exhibit gilding and sculptures in a land with a long tradition of Baroque sculpture.

Among the florists, there is no shortage of Pinsapo and Floristería Los Patios, two Córdoba companies that work on decorating the marches and worship of many brotherhoods in Córdoba and Andalusia. The florist Los Patios, managed by Rafael Barón, also presented his work as a gilder and presented a Neapolitan nativity scene on its stand.

There is also the Pepe Pinrreles stand and the Holly Cardswhich swept away Lent and Holy Week last time, and which will return in 2025 with some new features.

The meeting and the room count on the presence of many image creators, such as Edwin González, a Bolivian artist based in Córdoba who shows an imposing Sacred Heart of Jesus carved in wood.

THE programming It continues all day from Saturday until night and from Sunday October 20 until 3 p.m. Round tables, concerts and a place specially designed for children are among the proposals.
