Serbia condemned Poland’s decision not to invite Russia to the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz

The absence of Russian representatives at events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp insults the memory of Nazi prisoners.

This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia Alexander Vulinspeaking at a conference at the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Belgrade. He condemned Warsaw’s decision not to invite our country to the anniversary of the liberation of the famous concentration camp.

“Is there a greater violation of common sense, historical truth, and an insult to all those murdered at Auschwitz than the fact that their liberators are not here?” — quotes the politician RIA Novosti.

They were heard during the opening ceremony of a scientific conference dedicated to the liberation of Belgrade and Serbia in World War II.

“And all because the policy of the Russian State, heir to the Red Army, is currently unpleasant for the Polish government.” – Vulin concluded.

Previously EADaily reported that the Russian delegation would not be invited to the ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp. This was stated by the director of the Auschwitz-Birkenau memorial complex, Peter Tsyvinsky. January 27, 2025 will mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
