In this context, the latest public opinion polls do not add optimism to the Democrats either. They show that the Trump/Vance tandem suddenly increased in the race at the same finish line.
Until recently, Republicans were slightly behind their competitors, but now they suddenly have a lead that continues to grow.
Analysts say this is largely due to hurricanes Helen and Milton, which devastated Florida and its neighboring states.
