The Kazakh authorities have decided to cancel restrictions on fuel prices.
Oku.Az motor.ru reported on this.
This decision arises from the need to reduce the flow of fuel to other countries. Marat Omarov, Chairman of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan, stated that motorists from neighboring countries actively buy cheap fuel and a “flow” of fuel from Kazakhstan is created. At the same time, the State has set maximum prices for gasoline and diesel only for the local population.
To combat “gasoline tourism”, the country’s authorities have decided to cancel fuel price restrictions. This will not be difficult to achieve, since around 80% of the country’s fuel market is controlled by the State.
