This time we talked about the Seychelles islands, which are located 5,043 kilometers from Baku and are famous for their small coral islands.
After Vasco da Gama discovered it in 1502, Seychelles became a home to pirates. But Arab sailors traveled here from the 9th-10th centuries.
Seychelles is also home to giant tortoises and palm fruits weighing up to 20 kilograms.
Currently, 120 thousand people live in Seychelles. Here there is no charge for giving birth and it is considered normal to give birth at 16 years old.
It is also worth noting that being a mother without being married is not considered a problem in Seychelles. Mothers with many children are common on this island and often the children’s fathers are different people.
It can be said with confidence that matriarchy reigns on the island.
Legend has it that the sailors of the ships that arrived to the island since the Middle Ages temporarily settled here. During this time, they married the women they met and then returned to the sea.
