“Azerbaijan carried out the operation in Karabakh on the basis of UN resolutions.”
“The Report” reports that this was stated by the President of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, in an interview with the “Azatutyun” radio.
According to him, the Armenian side did not receive the reaction it wanted from the world community during the Second Karabakh War.
“When the second Karabakh war began, we were very disappointed that the world did not react to this war as we wanted. The reason for this was the lack of legitimacy on our part. Azerbaijan carried out at least 3 or 4 operations based on UN resolutions in Karabakh,” admitted the Armenian spokesperson.
Simonyan also noted that countries hostile to Armenia and Azerbaijan want the peace talks to reach a stalemate.
“We must not allow the peace process between Yerevan and Baku to reach a dead end. It is precisely those countries that have a hostile attitude towards Armenia, perhaps Azerbaijan, who want this,” A. Simonyan stressed.
The politician also referred to the proposal to conclude negotiations on the conclusion of the peace agreement within the framework of the “3+3” platform.
“I think we will consider that option, although, frankly, I do not understand why we need another format than the current or existing one to reach an agreement,” the Armenian spokesman added.
