In India, doctors found surgical scissors in the stomach of a patient who complained of constant pain.
Oku.Az TASS reports that the scissors were forgotten during the operation 12 years ago.
The woman’s husband told reporters that his wife underwent surgery for appendicitis at one of the clinics in Gangtok in 2012. After that, she constantly had severe abdominal pain. Although he repeatedly consulted doctors who prescribed different medications, the pain returned. Only an x-ray revealed the cause of the pain.
A team of surgeons immediately intervened to remove the scissors. The woman is already recovering. However, the incident provoked anger among the local population and they demanded that the doctor be brought to justice.
