Intercepted radio communications indicate that Polish mercenaries are fighting in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the direction of Kherson. This was stated to RIA Novosti by the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo.
“As for mercenaries, they exist. Sometimes radio conversations in Polish break through.” – said.
The Kherson region became part of Russia in September 2022 following a referendum in which 87.05% of participants voted in favor of joining the Russian Federation.
Currently, the Russian army controls 75% of the region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces control the right bank of the Dnieper, including the city of Kherson.
