Armenian dead end, pillars on the border and Zangezur – EADaily – Analysis of events in the world. News October 20, 2024. World news October 20, 2024. World news and Russia. The situation in the world October 20, 2024. News from Russia and the world.

The main problem of the opposition is that for four years no alternative concepts of the world agenda have been presented, said political strategist Karen Kocharyan at a press conference dedicated to internal political events and regional problems, ArmInfo reports.

“As soon as any political force or movement offers society a new concept, the days of the ruling Civil Contract party will be numbered. But this concept must be justified. “It is unrealistic to say that we will return to Artsakh at this time.” – think Kocharyan.

According to the expert, Yerevan does not have an internal political agenda, since there is no internal politics. Armenia, according to him, has become a puppet in the hands of world political forces:

“All the “red lines” of the world have been erased and the old rules of the game have completely disappeared. One could even say that in the mosaic of world politics there are no longer any rules of the game, which will probably lead to the emergence of new ones.”

The political strategist believes that today the whole world, especially in Armenia, is frozen waiting for the results of the electoral processes in Georgia, after which the contours of the region’s political vector will begin to take shape.

“In the context of these processes, we do not have a single security guarantee from our State. Taking into account Azerbaijan’s rhetoric, the canceled meeting with the Chairman of the Milli Majlis, the Azerbaijani military exercises in the territory of Nakhichevan and near Syunik and Gegharkunik, as well as Aliyev’s statements, we cannot be sure that nothing will happen ”. – the expert highlighted.

Kocharyan also explained why the current Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian So I’m in a hurry to sign a peace treaty:

“Today not a single structure in the country functions normally. In this sense, the prime minister needs a peace treaty before the elections to guarantee the reproduction of his own power. This is the only reason why Pashinyan is in such a hurry to sign a peace treaty. Otherwise, he fears he will be forced to hold early elections. For example, if Azerbaijan commits another local attack.”

For his part, the political scientist Stepan Danielian states: the weakness of Armenian society is the only vital support of this regime, therefore only the thought of the magical power of the border post can sustain the power of the current government of the country.

Similarly, the expert commented on the words of the Armenian Prime Minister that the army cannot be a key element of state security.

“The current Prime Minister of Armenia claims that if the army is the first guarantee of our national security, that means we do not have a security system. And before that, he said that the border pillars installed in the village of Kirants in the Tavush region are a guarantee of our security, which means that this is a border recognized by both Armenia and Azerbaijan.” – noted the political scientist.

In the conditions of the current world order, or rather in the conditions of the collapse of the world order, no border pillar is a guarantee of security. Danielyan reminded: the border pillars did not save today’s Lebanon, they did not save Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and many other countries from “democratic”, “communist” and “Zionist” aggression.

“Azerbaijan declared Armenia Western Azerbaijan and border posts cannot serve as a security guarantee,” – added the expert.

The political scientist proposed to consider the theses of the current Prime Minister of Armenia from a different angle, that is, why he does not want, for example, to have an army that will be the most important along with other elements of the security system:

“Having a combat-ready army means having: an officer corps that acts on the officers’ ideas of honor and patriotism; an educational system in which patriotism and the value system necessary for this are instilled; military-industrial system; free-thinking and worthy citizens; an efficient and organized diaspora, in whose formation the State plays an important role; a network structure similar to a church, which should be supported by the State.”

According to Danielyan, this list can be enumerated for a long time, but there is also a key problem here: a decent officer, a teacher, a citizen, a scientist, an active member of the diaspora, an effective church will not tolerate the current Prime Minister and your team:

“The current security system with all its components and this government are incompatible phenomena. Only the current weak and unworthy society, which fears an external threat, will vote for the current regime. Our weakness is the only vital support of this regime, so only the idea of the magical power of the border post can support the power of the current government of Armenia.”

Meanwhile, answering the question IAC VERELQ on the statements of Turkish officials on progress in the issue of the Zangezur corridor, expert of the Strategic Culture Foundation, Russian political scientist Andrey Areshev saying:

“I can assume that there are quite intense negotiations taking place. We have seen statements from Turkish ministers before this, in particular, in reference to the informal consultations that took place in Georgia. This was a few months ago. It concerns the issue of establishing direct communication links between the main territory of Azerbaijan, Nakhichevan and Türkiye through the Meghri region.

I think that the current statements of Turkish ministers and officials indicate that the negotiations are being carried out quite successfully and, probably, some issues that remain unresolved are being resolved in one way or another. Once again, we can assume that we are talking about finding a company, about looking for an organization that will be responsible for restoring the destroyed railway track in the Meghri district of the Syunik region, about which there have already been some leaks in the press.

We cannot judge reliably, but some statements, including that of Nikol Pashinyan (in my opinion, he said that he was talking about a certain company without naming it), this sum of our knowledge allows us to assume that sooner or later they may announce to ” Tell us about some mechanisms for the resumption of railway communication between Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan and Turkey through the territory of Armenia after 35 years.”
