Women are the key to a decrease in delay with delay in urban agriculture

JAKARTA – The role of women in increasing nutritional consumption of food through urban agricultural measures was effective in supporting efforts to reduce the delay in Indonesia. The acting mayor of the Eastern Jakarta, Iin Munsanna, said that the female movement in urban agriculture had a real impact on family food security and the satisfaction of food for pregnant women and children.

“We have proved that women can lead the execution of family food through *urban agriculture.

Urban agriculture is considered a practical and sustainable solution, especially in urban areas with limited land. Thanks to the use of excellent seeds and simple technologies, women can plant their own nutrient vegetables at home, strengthen access to family foods.

The dearing chairman of the PKK mobilization team in the Eastern Jakarta added Linda Aliza Kusanto, in urban agricultural events managed by women, the nutritional consumption of vegetables increased significantly. “If everything is done massively and continuously, we believe that this will be an effective step in reducing national growth indicators,” he said.

To obtain information, growth rate in Indonesia decreased from 30.8% in 2018 to 21.5% in 2023. The government is aimed at this indicator to fall to 18% in 2025 through various strategies, including nutritional interventions and strengthening food security.

Satina, an activist of the city farm in Jakarta, shared his experience in encouraging women’s groups in the use of vacant lands for more than 10 years. He emphasized the importance of using excellent seeds, such as a stamp with a red arrow and the help of experts.

“We managed to plant spinach, cabbage, kaizim, chili, eggplant, pumpkin and distributed their knowledge to many groups,” he said.

The food security expert from the provincial agricultural office of DKI Jakarta, Masyita Taqwa explained, fruits and vegetables are an important part of the B2SA program (various, nutritious, balanced and safe). He believed that urban agricultural events can support the program directly.

Meanwhile, Glenn Party was explained by the managing director of PT East West Seed Seed (Ewindo), his party encouraged urban agricultural events for more than 10 years. “We held 45 events during 2024 with the participation of 453 public groups, and 85% of the participants were women,” Glenn said.

Ewindo, a producer of red arrow seeds, over the past 35 years introduced more than 450 excellent varieties of seeds. They also reduced hundreds of field officers to provide education and technical assistance to farmers and urban agriculture.

“We made the moment a picture of the picture on the day that the expansion of the rights and capabilities of women is very important not only in equality, but also in maintaining the future generations through the performance of family nutrition,” Glenn said.
