US intelligence agencies are searching for someone responsible for leaking highly classified intelligence documents about Israel’s plans to retaliate against Iran. This is reported by TASS citing CNN.
According to the information released, documents classified as “top secret” dated October 15 and 16 appeared on the Middle East Spectator telegram channel. On this basis, it was concluded that only member countries of the Five Eyes alliance, which includes Australia, Great Britain, Canada, New Zealand and the United States, could have access to them.
It should be noted that one of the documents prepared by the United States National Geospatial Intelligence Agency mentions the transfer of ammunition by Israel as part of preparations for an attack against Iran. The US National Security Agency, in turn, revealed data on Israeli Air Force exercises with air-to-surface missiles.
Another document claims that Israel has nuclear weapons. However, the United States did not see the Jewish state’s intentions to use it during an attack on Iran.
According to a channel source, the objective of the investigation is to determine the circle of people who had access to the Pentagon documents. The investigation into the leak will be carried out by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Defense and the US intelligence services.
