Here’s how to restrict apps on iPhone and iPad

Today I want to show you how you can Restrict apps on iPhone and iPad. Apple devices take great care of this aspect and this system is a good solution. When, for example, you are going to lend the device to someone. It happened to me recently that my oldest daughter broke her tablet and in the meantime she is using my iPad. Before giving it to you, I applied this system so that you do not have access to applications that I consider sensitive. For example, I turned off messaging on the iPad to prevent it from typing and deleting something that could harm me.

Here’s how to restrict your apps

The first thing to do is click on the Settings icon, which is usually on the Home screen unless you have moved it. You will identify it because it is the icon of a gear wheel. Once you click on it, you will have to go down to a tab called Usage time. Click on it.

Once you’ve done that, scroll down until you find the Restrictions tab.

When you access it, by default, There is a switch that is turned off. This is what allows us to restrict many functions of the applications we have installed, or even stop using them.

Click the switch to put it green. Next, click on the tab that you will find below, Allowed applications and functions.

Now all we have to do is disable the apps that we don’t want anyone to be able to use. In my case, I disable email and wallet.

From this point on, the apps you marked will disappear from your device. But that doesn’t mean they are uninstalled, they are still there but they do not appear in sight. Once you have the device in your possession, if you undo this whole process and remove the restriction, the apps will reappear. You can take a look at these two screenshots below. In one, neither the messaging application nor the wallet are there, and in the other they are.

This function is very useful for this type of case, even if a trusted person asks you for your phone number for whatever reason. It will take less than 30 seconds by disabling native Apple apps that you consider sensitive. And as I always say, remember that your device belongs exclusively to you and it contains too much sensitive information for anyone else to have to dig through. In any case, this is how you can restrict apps on iPhone or iPad if you need to.
