Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva canceled his visit to the BRICS summit in Kazan after hitting his head at his residence. This was reported by the Brazilian leader’s press service.
The summit will take place from September 22 to 24. Lula da Silva was due to fly to Russia this afternoon, local time. However, the 78-year-old president fell at his residence and injured his neck. After being bandaged and undergoing tests at the hospital, Lula returned to the residence and is under the supervision of doctors who have prohibited him from long-term air travel.
“President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, on the recommendation of a doctor, will not attend the BRICS summit in Kazan due to a temporary ban on long-term air travel.” – says the text.
