It is also excluded from the decision, passenger buses, the number of which is 32 places and higher, which does not exceed 4 years, with the exception of the year of production.
This is allowed to import new and unused cars, provided that the year of production does not exceed two years, with the exception of the year of production.
The Syrian Minister of Transport Badr confirmed last month that the objects represented by the government regarding the import of cars are “temporary” and do not have elements of stability. He indicated that it is expected that he would take measures to control the import process to ensure road safety and reduce accidents, while emphasizing that these measures will not affect people who previously imported cars from the line.
He added that the country cannot continue to open import doors for this large number of vehicles.
