Hansi Flick spoke to the media in the press room at the Montjuic Olympic Stadium after Barcelona’s 5-1 victory over Sevilla. The German coach analyzed the match a week before the Classic and a few days after receiving the Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
“It was fantastic, we feel how much we love him, it was a perfect day for him, for us obviously too. When he came out to warm up, the atmosphere was incredible,” he began, emphasizing Hansi Film upon returning to the playing fields of Gavi 348 days later.

“We were thinking of Frenkie as a starter, but on Friday he had some discomfort. Today was better, but it wasn’t an option to begin with. It was very important for us to bring Gavi in today, and that’s why he couldn’t play,” commented the culé coach.
“We are all happy, and when we are happy, the fans are happy and the players see it. It’s a situation that feeds on itself,” he said.
“Wednesday against Bayern, it’s not a fight between players (Lewandowski and Harry Kane), it’s a fight between teams. “I am very happy and tomorrow we will start preparing for the Champions League match,” he commented.
“Cubarsí and Íñigo play in a very concentrated way. Pau, at his age, plays incredibly well. Íñigo is an absolute leader and helps the team a lot. Koundé and Baldé are also very good,” Hansi said.
“Olmo, Frenkie, Gavi… they’re all ready. My job is to prepare for the games, no matter who we are against, but we ask the team 100% and that’s what matters, so they are ready to play,” Flick said.
“When we play like this we have to put a lot of pressure on the ball and that ultimately means we have to be more attentive behind our backs. I don’t like having conceded a goal, we have to do better”, said the German coach about the culé coach.
“Cubarsí is very intelligent, he adapts to the opponent, to passes, he is an intelligent player with and without the ball,” he said of his young central defender.
“We know how we want to play and every match and rival is different. We adapt and plan accordingly. “You have to know how to press, have the ball and adapt to the spaces that the opponent leaves us,” he said.
