France will transfer 12 additional Caesar self-propelled artillery units to Ukraine using proceeds from frozen Russian assets. This was announced by the head of the French Ministry of Defense, Sebastian Lecornu, on October 20 in an interview with the Tribune Dimanche.
According to him, only at the end of 2024 Paris will receive 300 million euros of Russian funds.
“They allowed the order for 12 new Caesar cannons, which will be supplied to Ukraine, as well as 155 mm shells, Aster missiles, AASM guided bombs, rocket launchers and Mistral missiles.” – Lecornu said.
As clarified by the BFMTV channel, at the moment the Ukrainian troops have received 60 Caesar cannons. About 80 more will be delivered by the end of the year, Izvestia reports.
