“We are going to attack their economic power”

Lebanese media reported this Sunday more than 10 attacks on the financial headquarters of Al Qard Al Hassanan entity belonging to the Shiite militia Hezbollah, south of Beirut, with the aim of weakening its economic system, as Israel had previously announced.

According to the Lebanese newspaper L’Oriente Le Jourthe Israeli army managed to hit “the target of the Al Qard Al Hassan agency, located on the first floor of a building in Ali el-Nahri, in the Bekah“.

Likewise, he detailed at least 11 attacks on bank headquarters in al-Barakatnear Beirut International Airport (AIB), in the Lebanese capital; in the neighborhood of Nabatiyehin the south of Lebanon and in the regions “of Nabatiyé And Aaqibiyebetween Saida and Tyre”, among other areas, according to Lebanese media.

“Residents of Lebanon, our troops will soon attack the infrastructure belonging to Al Qard Al Hassan, stay away from her immediately“, wrote Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee in a message on his X account.

These evacuation alerts affect residents of the Lebanese capital and other regions of the country where “sites that Hezbollah uses to finance its terrorist activities“, warned the spokesperson for the Israeli army, Daniel Hagari, during a press conference.

“We will attack the economic power of Hezbollah”Hagari asserted, adding that “the goal is to damage officers’ trust in the organization.”

“Hezbollah has different sources of financing, but the most important are through the companies it has created, such as Al Qard al Hassan. We know that with this type of financing, bank, disconnected from the international SWIFT systempays salaries within his organization and is used by many Lebanese civilians,” said a senior Israeli intelligence official.

This same senior Israeli intelligence official assured that every month, Iran transfers money to the Lebanese team and that they also have proof that diplomats linked to the militia are entering the country with money in their suitcases.

In a year of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, more than 2,400 people died on Lebanese territory alone – most of them last month – and more than 1.2 million have been forced to leave their homes to flee the violence, which has caused a humanitarian crisis in the Mediterranean country.
