The PSOE hides behind Ayuso to thwart the massive protest in Plaza de Castilla against Pedro Sánchez

The sun pierces and warms the faces and spirits of the first demonstrators who gather, early Sunday, at the roundabout and at the tunnel. Castile Square. He Paseo de la Castellanafrom its roundabout to the exit of Cusco Metrowas filled with Spanish flags, with slogans reading “Sánchez resignation”, “Begoña fundraising», “More walls and fewer Moors”; Protestants chant insults against the president, his wife, the state attorney general, Álvaro Garcia Ortiz; Santiago Abascal gives a press conference in front of a churrería; he Wow, I think of Giuseppe Verdi resonates from the loudspeakers placed next to the statue in homage to Jose Calvo Sotelo. The atmosphere is festive, but some complain: “Less partying and more protesting!“.

There is a cheer. Bravo and applause. Among the crowd, like a resurrection, slips Alejo Vidal-Quadrasone of the organizers of the already baptized “Land Plaza Castilla“. Surrounded by bodyguards, the survivor shakes hands, smiles and takes photos with the men and women who, adorned with Spanish flags, make up the squadron of 25,000 demonstrators which form this Sunday demonstration. These are data from Government delegationeven though organizers claim there were 400,000.

The soundtrack of romanticism has already given way to the traditional Freedom of Good boythe Vox entourage has already joined – at the meters concerned, they do not want photos together and opt for a low profile – that of the People’s Partycomposed of Carmen Funez, Noélia Nunez, Alicia Garcia And Alphonse Serranothe latter being the only representative of the PP of Madrid. However, they were not Alberto Nuñez Feijóo nor the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayuso.

Also among the demonstrators are the leader of the SALF, Alvise Pérezto which some of his squirrels ask someone else selfieand common faces in the skirmishes against Ferraz, like Vito Quiles. There is no shortage of sarao Hermann Tertsch, Luis del Pino, Marcos de Quinto, Carlos Cuesta, Albert Castillon and other profiles that make up the cream of the crop of the “real opposition” (in his words) to sanchismo.

The concentration is called by Platform for a Constitutional Spainan organization formed by a hundreds of associations civicand supported by both Abascal’s far-right party and the People’s Party. Vidal-Quadras will deliver the closing speech of the meeting after personalities such as Ignacio Gordilloprosecutor at the National Court for 30 years, or Miguel Oteronewspaper president The Nationalwho had to replace the star guest, Maria Corina Machadoleader of the Venezuelan opposition, for security reasons.

During the interventions of the seven speakers – in order, Albert Castillon, Carlos Cuesta, Marcos de Quinto, Ignacio Gordillo, Ignacio Trillo, Miguel Otero, Luis del Pino And Vidal-Quadras– Slangs were heard such as “Spain is experiencing a coup d’état from within the institutions”, in reference to the granting of an economic agreement for Catalonia and the publication in the BOE of the approved law cover that benefits ETA prisoners, and that Sánchez is “number 1” of the “corrupt”a dictator who must be brought to justice“. It was not in vain that the demonstration took place, symbolically, in front of the courts of Plaza Castilla.

Ayuso, absent but focused

The demonstration, according to the Government Delegation, brought together 25,000 people. The organizers, however, claim to have collected 400,000a figure perhaps exaggerated if we observe the aerial images of the Paseo de la Castellana section. Lots of reddish trees, but only 1 kilometer of cut section. Not so much, not so little.

Vox and the People’s Party itself had called to join the demonstration, bringing their respective representatives to the meeting. On the popular side, their assistant secretary for organization was present, Carmen Funez; the deputy national secretary for mobilization and the digital challenge, Noélia Nunez; the spokesperson for the popular parliamentary group in the Senate, Alicia Garcia; And Alphonse Serranogeneral secretary of the Popular Party of Madrid, sole representative of the Community.

“A social majority in this country shares their frustration with this weak and corrupt government,” Serrano said. “Today, convened by a hundred civil organizations, We have stated loud and clear that Spain deserves a decent government. And the PP of Madrid will always be with this social majority.”

In response, Reyes Marotospokesperson for PSOE inside Madrid City Hallcriticized this Sunday the fact that the PP “called on the inhabitants of Madrid” to join the demonstration. “It’s an exercise in hypocrisy” that they criticize “corruption and lies“.

Corruption has a name in this city, her name is Isabel Díaz Ayuso“, said Maroto. The same words used yesterday by the Minister of Digital Transformation and Civil Service, Oscar Lopez. This led to the corruption of PP surf on the scandals that splash the world PSOE: “Corruption in Spain has names and surnames: the name is Isabel and the names are Díaz Ayuso.”

The strategy is the same: hide behind the figure of the president of the Community of Madrid to create a smokescreen that hides the many scandals that they track down the socialists (Ábalos and Koldo, the master of Begoña Gómez who is being investigated by Judge Peinado, the accusation of García Ortiz for revealing secrets, etc.). Reyes Maroto, in fact, assured that the demonstration called by the Platform for Constitutional Spain should have taken place “at the headquarters of the Popular Party in Genoa“, because “it is an example of corruption of a party which does not know how to make politics an exercise of responsibility”.

In response, Serrano said that “no matter how much they try to attack the president
Isabel Diaz Ayuso, nothing will hide all the corruption it affects the Socialist Party, it confuses the Spanish government and the president of the government.”
