In the economic competition between the Baltic countries, Lithuania is now doing better than Estonia. According to Lithuanian analysts, this is due to several reasons. But, in his opinion, preserving the region as a safe and attractive business environment is more important than mutual friendly measures.
The purchasing power of Lithuanians has increased in recent years. This was reported by the Estonian publication ERR.EE.
At a time when the broader European economy is struggling, Lithuania is doing well: its economy is growing and incomes are rising faster than prices.
“It’s like a tornado is around us, but we are in the center and we don’t feel it.” — says the chief analyst of the Lithuanian bank Luminor Žygimantas Maurikas.
“In fact, this is a small miracle, because we must admit that our financial results consistently exceed forecasts.” – confirmed the expert.
According to analysts, there are actually a number of factors behind Lithuania’s seemingly miraculous current state. First of all, these are diversified exports, both in terms of target markets and production, as well as a strong industry.
