Witnesses incriminate third defendant in Samuel Luiz crime

Friends of the accused in the fatal beating of Samuel Luiz, in the early hours of July 3, 2021 on the promenade of La Coruña, did not avoid placing three of the five accused at the scene of the events. Witnesses identified two of the five defendants as having participated in the beatings that ended the life of Samuel Luiz and for the first time blamed a third defendant, Kaio AS, for having seen him “loading the leg with the intention of kicking”although this witness did not specify whether he saw whether the kick had hit the victim or not.

The testimonies took place during today’s trial which is taking place before the Provincial Court of La Coruña and during which this witness also confirmed having seen previous fights by certain accused but not with “the crowd of people that day or the beatings”, he admitted, when questioned specifically by the prosecutor on the latter.

In his testimony, one of the witnesses implicated the main accused and blamed his ex-girlfriend, who is also in the dock. The witness corroborated that the main accused, the young Diego Montaña, who started beating Samuel, thought that the deceased was recording him.

Exonerates the only woman accused

At that point, the witness said Diego began attacking Samuel and his then-girlfriend, Catherine SB, also a defendant in this trial, grabbed Samuel’s friend’s arm as she tried to to help him get away and he said “you don’t matter”. However, she attributed the move to trying to reach her boyfriend. In the same spirit, he said he believed he heard her say “stop, stop”.

Furthermore, the last witness testified that he saw another accused, Alejandro FG, with whom he had been friends since the age of eleven, and introduced him to the other members of the group, grabbing Samuel from behind and holding him by the neck. but without hitting him, in line with what was declared in court by two of the accused.

Neither this witness, nor another witness who subsequently testified during the trial held at the Provincial Court of La Coruña, could confirm whether Alejandro MR was present at the scene of the incident. final blow, the third and most serious of those that Samuel received while trying to escape his murderers.
