The president of the People’s Party met in Madrid on Monday with his National Executive Committee, the highest governing body of the center-right party, which includes all its regional barons. During the last week of black october from Moncloa, Alberto Nuñez Feijóo predicted that “the end of Sánchez’s agony will be long”, but that “It will take them longer, they will stew in their own hypocrisy”.
The pressure exerted by the Galician politician goes in two directions. On the one hand, he insists that the president provide explanations for his “continuing scandals.” And on the other, calls on his people to be “ready to govern”.
Because, as he said in the opening speech of this meeting, “Sánchez is not able to say if Aldama met him or if he met his wife.” But Spaniards are more interested in “making ends meet”get home in time to see your family or, worse, end up getting a place to live.
It is for this reason that the Galician politician fears that his executives will become complacent “in the face of the succession of scandals, amnesties, corruption and cover-ups” of the PSOE and its partners. And remind the most popular that “Even if this political decline seems endless, it will definitely be there.. And Spain needs a different future.”
The one in which he promised that “there will be neither walls nor blocks”. A kind of prediction or prophecy that seeks to come true by appealing to “It’s not about parties, but about values”. And because the PP will want to make this Spain “a nation united by everything we have in common”. Words, all very enigmatic, but which aim to dispel the denial of sanitary cordons and even incompatibilities among its potential partners.
The Galician politician did not refer to the Errejon affairwhose name he didn’t even say. Of course, there was express mention of “harassed women” who, according to him, “deserve to feel supported”.
For the leader of the PP, the management of equality and feminism is one of the “disasters” of the Sánchez governments: “First, they saw their attackers released from prison, and the PP was there to remedy that. Now they suffer not only the facts, but also their concealment.. “We will continue to defend them, because the government is only proposing its hypocrisy.”
Absences
At the same time, the advisers of the Presidency of the CCAA of the Popular Party participated in the meeting convened by the Ministry of Territorial Policy to finally prepare the appointment of the Conference of Presidents. All except Isabel Diaz Ayuso -who arrived later so as not to miss the presentation of an award planned by the Community of Madrid-, arrived at the National Executive Committee with a common message.
In fact, three: the photos of Victor de Aldama with Pedro Sánchez, they make the continuity of government “unsustainable”; the scandal of Errejon affair discovers “those who gave lessons to society” while acting in the opposite way “either by mistreating women or by covering it up”; and the demand that the regional summit next December address new regional funding and the “migratory emergency”.
This is how they expressed themselves, upon their arrival, Jorge Azcon (Aragon), Fernando Lopez Miras (Murcia), and Paco Núñez (Castilla-La Mancha), who even called for an internal revolt within the PSOE. “The one who has the key to making all this end is the president Emiliano García-Page“If he does not agree with Sánchez on anything, he must withdraw his support and the eight Castilian-La Mancha socialist deputies must bring him down.”
