An outbreak of an unidentified painful virus occurred on the Mediterranean coast of the Turkish town of Belek, reports the SHOT Telegram channel.
It is reported that in recent days several dozen children and adults from nearby hotels came to the local hospital with a temperature above 39 degrees, which was almost not reduced by antipyretic medications.
As a result, patients had to receive IVs. It has been established that the acute phase of the disease lasts 4-5 days, then the infection gradually subsides.
There is a version that we are talking about one of the new varieties of covid, since several patients experience severe bone pain, loss of appetite and abdominal discomfort.
It is also assumed to be a rotavirus, as several patients experience vomiting and nausea. In those infected, blood tests showed a significant increase in C-reactive protein, urea nitrogen, and neutrophil counts.
Almost everyone is diagnosed with an “acute, unspecified infection.” Antibiotics and anti-infectives are prescribed. At the same time, no one is fleeing the resorts: hotels are at maximum occupancy.
Information also appeared that some tourists get sick upon returning to Russia, and others contract the virus directly on the plane. Judging by the cases described by tourists, its incubation period can range between 4 and 14 days.
