Law enforcement officers have detained a taxi driver who raped a female passenger in his car in the south-west of Moscow, the press service of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia in Moscow reported on September 2.
According to the department, the crime occurred on September 1. The driver raped the girl inside a car parked on Znamenskie Sadki Street.
“A criminal case is being investigated based on crimes under Part 1 of Art. 131 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (rape), Part 2 of Art. 132 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violent acts of a sexual nature). The accused was detained and charged.” – the message said.
The man’s involvement in the crime is confirmed by the case materials. The investigation intends to ask the court to select a preventive measure for the accused in the form of detention. The driver faces up to 10 years in prison.
