“Solidarity” is undoubtedly the ideal word to define the Spanish population today in the face of the terrible consequences of the worst DANA in the history of our country.
There are many people who form mile-long queues to offer aid to those affected by the floods.
In addition, thousands of collection points were created throughout Spain to cover the basic needs of Valencians.
Alicante Gastronómica also wanted to show solidarity with those affected by DANA in the province of Valencia. From the entity prepared more than 6,300 complete menus which were distributed in different areas of the Valencia area affected by the dramatic floods.
The entity, in coordination with the Valencian Generalitat and Vice President Susana Camarero, was able to feed this Saturday the inhabitants of the towns of Albal, Catarroja, Picaña, Paiporta, Alzira and Alcudia de Carlet.
Among the food delivered and other needed items are meals prepared by volunteers, hamburgers, sandwiches, fruit, water, holy hand, diapers, blankets and clothes.
Furthermore, the entity moved two water trailers to PM Alzira.
From the entity, they claim to already be working on the preparation of some 1,500 prepared meals and 200 sandwiches for tomorrow.
Firefighters’ work
The work of emergency teams continues tirelessly in the areas affected by the terrible DANA which devastated Valencia last Tuesday October 29 and which has already left 207 dead at 10 a.m. this Saturday.
From Alicante and after requesting help from the Valencia Consortium, the Provincial Consortium of Firefighters moved its troops to reach the current number of one officer, two non-commissioned officers, four sergeants, eight corporals and 28 firefighters from the parks of fire. Denia, Benidorm, Cocentaina and Elda, as well as a helicopter and a boat.
In the early hours of this Saturday, the Alicante firefighters, in addition to continuing to help in other areas, moved to the town of Aldaia.
There, they worked around the clock to remove water and check for submerged vehicles.
The Consortium claims to work in coordination to “remove vehicles to clear bridges, streets and highways” in order to “free obstacles and obstructions.”
In addition, they claim to check the submerged vehicles one by one to find possible victims.
