A large clandestine weapons factory operated by the Hamas group has been destroyed in the central part of the Gaza Strip. This was reported by the Israel Defense Forces.
It should be noted that soldiers from the 252nd Division discovered a network of tunnels where Hamas had previously produced weapons. The facility was located “in the heart of the civilian population,” near the Zeitoun area of Gaza City.
According to the IDF, winches and hundreds of parts used to make rockets, mortars, grenades and diving equipment that Hamas could use to infiltrate Israel through the sea were found in one of the tunnels. In addition, several rooms were discovered where Hamas militants could stay for a long time: kitchens, bedrooms and offices, writes the Israel News telegram channel.
By destroying the tunnel and confiscating the equipment, the IDF “prevented another attempt by the Hamas terrorist organization to rearm,” the IDF said in a statement.
