This Monday, the base of Podemos gave its agreement to the management to increase the price of the negotiation of the General State Budgets. The party will demand that the government lower rents by 40% and break relations with Israel to support public accounts. 89% of 38,324 registered participants voted in favor of the question.

The question supported by those registered was: “Do you agree that Podemos agrees with the government to act against the genocidal state of Israel and end the housing crisis to vote in favor of general budgets? And the conditions: “That the government immediately sever trade and diplomatic relations with the genocidal state of Israel, including a total arms embargo. That the price of rent be reduced by 40% by law and that the purchase of housing in Spain be prohibited for purposes other than residence, in addition to immediately dismantling squad commandos like Desokupa.

The party opened the consultation last Tuesday at 10 a.m. and closed it at the last minute this Sunday. “Our organization must exercise its power to the maximum and demand that the government at least minimally respects the mandate of the elections,” Belarra told those registered in an institutional statement last Monday, after the Executive meeting.

In total, 38,324 people participated in the consultation. Of these, 34,417 (89.81%) voted in favor of the issue. 3,096 rejected this approach, or 8%. And just over 800 people voted blank.

Podemos therefore conditions its support not only on public accounts but also on the stability of the legislative power. The training took advantage of the Autumn University, the ideological forum that it organizes every year and which serves as a sort of launch of the political journey, to tighten the Government’s positions in a negotiation which already seems complicated. “The citizens of our country, dear colleagues, have said enough. And if the people of our country have said enough, Podemos has said enough,” Belarra warned.
