Elon Musk has threatened to seek the seizure of Brazilian state assets in the United States following Judge Alexandri de Morais’ decision to block Starlink Holding’s accounts and access to the social network X (Twitter) in the republic.
“If the Brazilian government does not return the illegally confiscated property of X and SpaceX, we will seek the mutual seizure of government assets. Hope, [президенту Бразилии] Lule [да Силве] will enjoy flying regular commercial flights,” – wrote in X.
Earlier on August 31, Musk threatened to present incriminating evidence to a Brazilian judge who blocked Social Network X. He also called the Brazilian judge a fraud and a dictator.
On August 30, di Morais ordered the suspension of the social network X in Brazil. At the same time, Apple and Google must remove the X app from their online stores within five days. The country will also impose fines for using a social network via VPN in the amount of 50 thousand Brazilian reals (about 800 thousand rubles at the exchange rate on September 3).
On the same day, Starlink asked Brazil’s Supreme Court to unfreeze the accounts.
On August 29, it became known that Musk’s Starlink holding company’s accounts in Brazil had been frozen. Brazilian Supreme Court Judge Alexandre de Moraes gave the businessman 24 hours to appoint a new legal representative for the social network X in the country. Musk, in turn, called the Brazilian court’s actions against Starlink illegal.
