Military exercises of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) countries “Interaction-2024” will begin on Tuesday in Kyrgyzstan, the CSTO press service reported.
“The command post exercise with the CSTO CRRF “Interaction – 2024”, the special exercise with the reconnaissance forces and means “Search – 2024”, the forces and means of logistical support of the troops (collective forces) of the CSTO “Echelon – 2024″ will be held… on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic in the period from September 3 to September 15,” – says the press service.
It is noted that contingents of the armed forces of the CSTO member states – Belarus, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and operational groups of the CSTO secretariat and joint headquarters will take part in the exercises. Units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and special services of the CSTO member states are also expected to take part.
The Armenian side has informed the CSTO that it does not intend to participate in the exercises. The Republic has previously suspended its participation in the organization.
As stated by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the CSTO at a briefing Andrey SerdyukovRepresentatives of Algeria, Egypt, India, Iran, China, Mongolia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, the UN and SCO secretariats, the Executive Committee and the CIS Anti-Terrorism Centre were invited to the exercises as observers.
In addition, the final stage of the exercise will be attended by parliamentarians participating in the coordination meeting of the chairmen of the defence and security committees of the parliaments of the member countries of the organisation dependent on the CSTO Council. Parliamentary Assembly.
In total, more than 5,000 troops and over 900 units of weapons, military equipment and special equipment will participate in the CSTO exercises.
