Hans Weidel, grandfather of Alice Weidel, co-chair of the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, served in the SS (fascist paramilitary police) and was also a judge during World War II.
Oku.Az This was reported by the newspaper “Welt am Sonntag” with reference to archival documents.
According to the publication, Grandfather Weidel joined the SS in January 1933.
The newspaper writes that in March 1941 Weidel went to Warsaw to “study as a military judge.” Four months later he worked as a judge at the Warsaw Military Command court.
The newspaper reports that, however, it was not possible to bring Vaidel to justice due to lack of evidence.
