Unemployment registered in public employment service offices increased by 973 people in August in Castile and León compared to the previous month (+0.95 percent) to reach 103,166 unemployed, according to data published by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.
With the increase in August, this case has now seen two consecutive months of increases in unemployment in the Community. the sixth highest increase in unemployment in the countryabove the average which increased by 0.86 percent.

Unemployment increased in all provinces, with the highest increases in Salamanca (+225), Burgos (+197), Valladolid (+124), León (+105), Ávila (+96), Palencia (+96), Zamora (+78), Soria (+30) and Segovia (+22).
Catalonia (+8,707), Comunitat Valenciana (+3,459) and País Vasco (+3,298) were the communities where the number of unemployed increased the most, while Extremadura in the Canary Islands and La Rioja recorded the lowest growth, with decreases of 443,365 and 130, respectively.
